Feeding piglets depends entirely on the age periods, which are conventionally divided into three stages. The first stage "Sucking" lasts from birth to four weeks. The second stage of weaning continues until the piglet is six weeks old. The final stage is the "Growing" stage. Each of them has its own growing conditions.
Immediately after birth, piglets need colostrum for the sow to feed. It contains antibodies that are absorbed by babies only on the first day after birth. Then, during the entire suckling period, they only need mother's milk and water. It is in the sow's milk that all the nutrients they need are contained. As an additive from 6-9 days of age, pre-starter feed can be added to the diet of piglets, which contains balanced vitamins and minerals for optimal growth of domestic animals. To normalize digestion, enzyme supplements can be included in the nutrition of piglets. When the piglets reach over 17 kg in weight, they are weaned from the sow. During the "Weaning" period, for their nutrition, a feed mixture of substances mixed in a certain proportion is required. The composition of the mixture: barley without film - 31.8%, fish meal - 19%, oats without films - 10%, wheat - 10%, milk replacer - 8%, soybean meal - 8%, dry return - 7%, corn - 5%, premix - 0.5%, baking soda - 0.5%, table salt - 0.2%. This mixture is given dry. Each pig usually eats 15 kg of product in 35 to 56 days. If the piglets were weaned from their mother when their weight has not yet exceeded 2.5 kg at the age of 5-10 days, then they need a special premix that would compensate for the sow's milk deficiency. It has a specially increased percentage of dry skim milk. At the age of 28 days, the weight of the piglet should already be over 7.5 kg, and at 56 days - over 20 kg. During this period, babies are fed from two to two and a half kilograms of prestarter food and about twenty kilograms of a starter. It is useful to include crude protein in the piglets' feed during the "Growing" stage - about 22-24% of the total food volume. Then it is necessary to gradually transfer young pigs to dry feed, which contains 16% nitrogenous additives. Piglets need to be fed at exactly the right time at regular intervals. They should receive their first portion early in the morning. Balanced nutrition and adherence to the feeding regime are prerequisites for raising young pigs. This allows you to achieve growth in the shortest possible time.
