Each dog breed has its own standards. Quite often, owners are faced with the problem of setting the ears of their pets. It should be remembered that an unprofessional procedure can lead not only to incorrect ear positioning, but also to serious health problems for the puppy. Therefore, it is recommended to entrust these manipulations to specialists. But, if you are not afraid to harm the baby and are completely confident in your abilities, then you can try to glue the ears yourself.
It is necessary
- - cotton-based adhesive plaster;
- - sticks for cleaning ears;
- - baby powder;
- - scissors
Instructions
Step 1
Thoroughly clean and degrease your puppy's ear. Take an adhesive plaster and cut it into small squares. The approximate size of the squares is 1x1 cm.
Step 2
Begin gluing the prepared patch on the inside of the ear, from the cartilage at the base of the ear. The squares must be glued with a large overlap, pressing firmly against the auricle.
Step 3
Proceeding by analogy, glue the entire ear to the very tip. Take a stick for cleaning your ears and attach it to the resulting "track". Gently glue the stick using the same pieces of adhesive.
Step 4
Prepare adhesive tape strips 12 cm wide and 30 cm long. Glue one of the strips at the base of the ear from the outside. Begin wrapping around the ear by rolling the tape towards the puppy's neck and forming a cone. Be careful not to wrap too tightly or pinch your ears. The little finger should pass under a well-formed cone.
Step 5
Powder the inside of the ear with baby powder, under the taper. Lift your ear and re-tape it by rolling the patch in the same direction. The second layer of winding should be placed below the first, as close as possible to the dog's head - it should overlap the previously powdered places. Glue the second ear by analogy with the first.
Step 6
Cut the tape of the adhesive plaster to the desired length and connect the ears to each other at the base, gluing the figure eight from the adhesive tape. Fasten the loops on each ear tightly so that they do not move. Cut off a small piece of tape and glue the middle of the figure eight just above the top of the puppy's head.
Step 7
Leave your ears in this state for a few moments. Powder the base of the ears with baby powder daily, making sure it falls under the formed cone.
Step 8
Monitor your puppy's condition and behavior closely. If your baby is anxious, or you notice inflammation and redness, you should immediately remove the patch and treat the ears. Irritations and scratches are treated with an antiseptic and sprinkled with an antibacterial powder.
