In order for the hunt to be successful, it is necessary to feed the elk first before taking action. However, perhaps you are pursuing goals and just want to help the animal survive the harsh winter.
Instructions
Step 1
To get started, contact a specialized hunting store in your city or find a website that specializes in selling the necessary accessories. So you can buy special bait for moose, and not make them yourself (which is not always effective). There are several types of such products. For example, you can buy complementary foods that include a set of mineral salts and vitamins that the animal needs. Or purchase a flavored concoction to attract female or male elk.
Step 2
The way to use them is simple - pour it onto a pre-prepared feeder (a log dug into the ground with a height of about the level of the moose's muzzle) or mix it with the ground within a radius of one meter. The difficulty lies elsewhere: how to find the places where the moose move so that neither money nor time is wasted?
Step 3
You can ask local residents about this or inquire at the hunting farm by presenting a license to shoot the animal and familiarizing its workers with the composition of purchased or self-made complementary foods (usually the same salt or salted root crops and hay).
Step 4
If your goal is not to hunt, but, on the contrary, to preserve the moose population in a harsh winter or prevent their migration, then first contact a hunting farm. Find out, referring to the game's map, the habitats of the population and approximate patterns of movement of moose. Each farm also has a walk-around plan for workers. So first agree on a time and date with a specific gamekeeper (not all of them like strangers in their business). Then everything is the same: place a cube of salt and a briquette on the trough so that the wooden post is gradually saturated with it. Place root vegetables and hay nearby. Complementary foods should be left with each round at the rate of 2 kg per animal living in these areas. Salt - as consumed.
