Chihuahua, like any dog, is a carnivore. But this does not mean that you only need to feed her with meat. Even in the wild, many predatory animals are happy to supplement their meat diet with fruits, berries, and other plant foods.
What should be the food of a Chihuahua
In order for the Chihuahua's body to get used to the regimen, you need to feed the dog at the same time. This contributes to the proper functioning of the digestive system. An adult dog should be fed twice a day, morning and evening. It is advisable not to feed your pet at night. Better to give food every twelve hours. For example, breakfast at 8 am and dinner at 8 pm. Older dogs can be fed once a day.
To calculate the amount of food, the rule applies - 50-80 g of food per 1 kg of the dog's weight. You can feed the Chihuahua with both prepared dog food and natural food. Ready-made feeds are more convenient, since their composition is developed taking into account all the needs of the animal's body. But despite all the advantages of store food, many owners choose to feed their dogs natural food.
