Now many people keep exotic animals at home: lizards, turtles and even crocodiles. But only having bought such a heat-loving household for yourself, you immediately need to think about how to comfortably place it in your apartment, so that the animal itself is healthy and feels comfortable, and so that its habitation in your house does not cause inconvenience to you.
It is necessary
Plastic or glass container (you can use a rectangular aquarium), sealant or construction grout, heating lamp, terrarium soil (stones, sand, sawdust), animal shelter
Instructions
Step 1
Use the container of your choice as the basis for your terrarium. First of all, you need to take care of the tightness of the structure. Animal secretions should not be absorbed into the surface of the terrarium or flow out, therefore, if the aquarium has noticeable cracks in the walls or bottom, be sure to seal them with liquid nails, glass glue or special construction mastic. In the future, this will make it much easier for you to clean up the animals.
Step 2
After everything is sealed, you can start arranging the terrarium itself. In no case should there be bare glass on the surface, so that the animal does not get injured by it when it moves around its dwelling. For land turtles, stones, sand or small pebbles are used, you can also fill the terrarium with sawdust or special wood filler. Sawdust and filler are convenient to use, as they are removed when dirty and replaced with new ones - dry and clean. But for animals, of course, it is best to use natural soil - stones, sand and pebbles.
Step 3
The enclosure must maintain a certain temperature for your pet. In stores, you can now find special lamps and heaters, including those for terrariums. As a first step, for those who have already purchased the animal, but have not yet acquired the inventory, we can recommend a simple desk lamp fixed to a clothespin (there are such bulbs in any store). For the first time, such a simple device will provide your terrarium with light and a little higher temperature. Well, then you can buy a special heater.
At the opposite end of the cage heat source, set up a shelter for your animal to sleep and hide in. It is better to place a container for food and drinking water closer to a warm place, but preferably not under a heat source.
