To bring down the temperature, ice or cold water should be urgently placed on the dog's neck and inner thigh. Give your pet a chance to quench their thirst with cool water by providing small amounts of water to drink. It is undesirable to give pills on your own or give your dog injections. It is urgent to deliver the pet to the veterinary hospital.
Step 2
But there are situations when it is impossible to deliver a dog to the clinic and it is already clearly visible that without human help the animal will die, and physical measures to lower the temperature do not bring the desired result. Then there is only one way out: take a chance and lower the temperature of your pet yourself. You need to take an antihistamine (diphenhydramine, suprastin, tavegil, diprazine, etc.), crush it into powder and give it to the dog along with the drink. This will help bring down the temperature and prevent the development of allergic reactions. If the dog turns out to be from water, you need to inject diphenhydramine into the inner surface of the thigh (you must follow the attached instructions for dosage of the drug).
