Horses have always been and remain faithful helpers and reliable friends of man. Not everyone can afford such an animal, but almost everyone can engage in horse riding in an equestrian club. In addition to riding a horse, the rider needs to learn how to care for it, including learning how to properly clean the horse.
It is necessary
You will need a set of tools for cleaning. It is a plastic and soft rubber comb, natural bristle soft brush, hard brush. In addition, you will need a plastic massage brush with not very long teeth, a rubber or soft plastic massager, a cloth or sponge, a cloth or paper napkins. You will also need small and large buckets and a hoof hook with a brush
Instructions
Step 1
So, the best way to clean a horse is on the street or at junctions. If you clean it in a stall, then all the dust and dirt will remain there. The horse will have to breathe this, which is hardly good for her body.
Step 2
First, the horse must be brought to the interchange and tied up so that it is comfortable. It will not be possible to leave it at junctions for a long time (more than 3 minutes), so prepare everything you need in advance.
Step 3
Cleaning usually starts on the left side. If the horse is very dirty, brush off the dirt and sand with a stiff brush. After that, you need to go over the entire body of the animal with a plastic comb, except for the muzzle, spine, legs below the hock joint and metacarpus. First walk against the grain, then in the direction of its growth. The scraper should be periodically knocked out on the floor. Repeat the procedure if necessary. After that, circular movements are carried out, but with a rubber squeegee. If the horse does not mind, then you can gently scratch the face.
Step 4
Further on the horse's body, you need to gently walk with massagers, without pressing hard.
Step 5
Then the mane and tail are taken apart. The mane is carefully combed with a plastic brush, and the tail is taken apart by hand or with a stiff natural long-bristled brush. First, they collect the tip of the tail into a fist and comb it carefully, then gently, along the strands, comb the entire tail.
Step 6
Now take a soft brush in your left hand and a squeegee in your right hand. Start brushing from the neck. The steps are as follows: brush against the hair, then along the same place in the direction of hair growth and clean the brush with a comb. After about every 20 such strokes, knock the comb on the floor.
Step 7
Finally, scrub the brush well with a squeegee and set aside the last. Stand facing your horse and grab the carry or cheek strap of the halter. Gently brush your forehead, cheeks, back of your head, ears, snoring and between your ears. After that, unhook the hooves, that is, remove dirt, earth, manure from the sole of the hoof with a special hook and brush to sweep the hoof.
Step 8
Put on a rubber glove, wet a cloth in a small bucket, and wipe the horse's genitals. In a bucket, you can pre-dissolve several crystals of potassium permanganate. You also need to wipe the inside of the tail. At the end of brushing, you can walk over the wool with a cloth to add shine.
Step 9
The horse is cleansed and ready to carry you back on its strong back.
