Step 2
Tomato juice or eating tomatoes helps a lot. These products help prevent tartar and plaque build-up on your Yorkie's teeth. Poor hygiene can lead to bad breath. As a preventive measure, it is good to use artificial bones, carrots or crackers.
Step 3
You need to buy a special dog toothbrush at the pet store. They are long, with bristles arranged in two rows and put on a person's finger. The soft effect of the bristles on the gums has a massage effect and provokes the growth of permanent teeth. Need to get dog toothpaste. There are products with various additives, such as meat flavors or mint flavors. The puppies don't like the latter very much. Such pastes do not require rinsing with water, they can be eaten and they do not contain substances that have a negative effect on the digestive system of the Yorkshire Terrier.
Step 4
After changing teeth (over 7 months old), Yorkies, to prevent the appearance of tartar, need to be given bones with the addition of chlorophyll once a week.

You can use a mixture of baking soda and lemon juice, which you need to rub into your Yorkie's gums daily, and also give him apples. You can use the following composition: mix a couple of drops of iodine with a spoonful of baking soda, add water and wipe the dog's gums and teeth with this composition.
Step 6
You need to gradually teach your Yorkie to brush your teeth. To begin with, you should interest the pet, for example, give him delicious food from his hands for three weeks and at the same time touch his face several times a day. Then try to part your lips and touch your teeth with your finger. After that, the dog should be rewarded. Such manipulations should be carried out until the Yorkie exposes his jaw and provides free access to cleaning agents.
