Budgerigars, lovebirds, nymphs are flocking birds and they feel best in large companies. Therefore, if you are often absent from home, get a pair of your favorite parrot. Perhaps the bird will stop paying attention to you and it will become worse to speak, but you will be able to observe the process of courtship and breeding of small parrots, which is no less interesting.

Step 1
Determine the gender of your parrot. The main criterion is the color of the wax - the growth at the base of the beak, which contains the parrot's nostrils. In adult males, the wax is blue, in females it is lilac, bluish, brownish. In addition, females often have a white rim around the respiratory openings.
Step 2
Together, you can settle two males or create a couple. Two females in a cage do not get along well and will constantly quarrel.
Step 3
The purchased bird must go through a 30-day quarantine, not only in a separate cage, but also in a separate room.
Step 4
Place the female in the cage with the male. In nature, matriarchy reigns in flocks of parrots, so if the female feels herself the mistress of the territory, she will constantly beat the male, and may even peck him to death.
Step 5
If it so happens that your first parrot is a female, you will have to buy a new cage, put the male there and, after he has fully mastered, move the lady to him. You can put both cages side by side so that the female can observe the male from her cage and gradually get used to it. This makes the parrots less likely to fight.
Step 6
If your parrot is accustomed to walking freely around the room, you can place the cages nearby so that the birds can walk together. Gradually, the female will begin to enter the cage to the male and eat from his feeder. After a while, leave the female in the male's cage overnight. If all goes well, the second square can be removed.
Step 7
If your parrot has lived alone for too long, the habituation process can be delayed. Remove the mirror and toys from the cage so that the birds focus on each other.
Step 8
Watch closely how the birds settle in one cage, how they sort things out, share food. Try to organize the introduction of the new bird at such a time that you are at home as often as possible and do not leave the parrots unattended for a long time. Birds have different temperaments, a quarrel can flare up in your absence and turn into a serious fight.
Step 9
If the birds quarrel, immediately separate them into different cages. After one week or two, try putting the parrots back together again. Unfortunately, it happens that parrots, like people, do not converge in character. In this case, one bird from the pair will have to be replaced. Pairing is best in a large flock. In this case, the birds have the opportunity to find a partner on their own.
Step 10
If you notice that the relationship has developed: the male takes care of the female, feeds and cleans her feathers, you can hang out the nest. Mating of small parrots usually lasts from April to October.
