Step 1
Prepare everything in advance. Draw the medicine into the syringe and release the air. You can first wipe the injection site with alcohol, but you can do it - it's okay.
Step 2
Need an injection under your skin? The area of the withers in cats is an insensitive place, and she may not even notice a clear and quick injection. We pull back the withers of the animal and shallowly insert the needle directly into the fold - you will immediately feel that you have pierced it. Be careful not to pierce the crease through! Not fast, but too slow, inject the medicine and remove the needle.
Step 3
Intramuscular injection is more difficult to do - it is important not to get into the bone. The most common place for this injection is in the hind thigh. We grab it, feel it, and stab it into a soft place. We insert the needle deeper than with a subcutaneous injection - by a centimeter or a little more, and parallel to the animal. It is important that the cat's limb is relaxed at this moment.
With such an injection, it is important to hold the cat, because the injection is quite tangible. Ideally, you need another person: he holds, you prick. Afraid that your cat will bite and scratch? Throw a thick blanket over her, or buy a special bag for fixing the animal, a kind of straitjacket, or at least a special muzzle.
