You bought a rabbit and, of course, immediately got everything you need for a new tenant. The bunny feels great in the new cage, eats with appetite, but does not go to the drinker, preferring to use a bowl. The task is to teach the baby to drink from the drinking bowl.

Step 1
If you bought a rabbit that drank exclusively from a bowl, it will have to be accustomed to the process of drinking water from a vertical drinker with a ball. There are quick-witted animals that quickly understand what's what. Others cannot grasp the mechanism and benefits of the drinker for a long time.
Step 2
A rabbit just introduced into a new cage may not drink or eat for several hours. Let the animal get used to it, do not disturb it this time. Soon the bunny will come to his senses and will certainly be interested in food and water.
Step 3
Bring the bunny to the drinking bowl and gently poke it with the spout into the drinking ball. Try not to scare the animal. Sprinkle water on the rabbit's nose to lick off the drops. If ordinary water does not appeal to the baby, you can pour some carrot juice into the drinker or grease the ball with milk. Perhaps such an additive to the diet will interest the rabbit.
Step 4
If your rabbit stubbornly ignores the drinker, check to see if you attached it correctly. Changing the angle of inclination may block water access. Remove the drinker and carefully study its design - you may have come across a defective specimen. It happens that the opening of the drinker spout is too narrow - it can be widened with nail scissors. If water does not flow into the tube at all, it is better to replace the drinker.
Step 5
Is the drinker working, but your pet still won't fit? Take your time - it can take several days to train the animal. Do not be angry with the rabbit and do not try to use force - he may start to be afraid of both you and the drinker.
Step 6
Monitor the water level in the flask. A large rabbit in the hot season drinks all the contents of the drinker per day. But there are also those who do not need that much water. If your pet eats a lot of juicy foods - fresh grass, vegetables, or apples - it may be getting enough liquid from them. However, the water should gradually decrease - this is an indicator that the animal's drinking regime is in order.
