Today, the sight of dogs traveling with their owners is no longer surprising. However, not all dog owners are familiar with the rules for exporting animals abroad. To save you and your pet from unnecessary stress, it is necessary to prepare well for a joint trip abroad and approach it with all seriousness.

Instructions
Step 1
Prepare Veterinary Passport Make sure your dog has an international veterinary passport of the established form. The veterinary passport must be completed in English. The passport contains information about the owner of the dog, as well as full information about the animal, including data on the vaccinations carried out and the date of deworming. Make sure your dog's vaccines meet international standards. It is good if vaccination is carried out with multivalent vaccines. Pay special attention to rabies vaccination - it is mandatory for all, without exception, countries. Make sure your vaccinations are not overdue. You should be aware that all vaccinations must be made no earlier than 30 days before departure. It is recommended to repeat vaccinations 9 and more months ago.
Step 2
Carry out the chipping procedure Chipping is one of the conditions for exporting an animal from the territory of the Russian Federation. It is also an indispensable condition for the importation of dogs into the countries of the European Union. This procedure can be done in most state veterinary clinics. The essence of the procedure is that a microchip is inserted under the skin of the animal, containing data about the dog and its owner. The information is read using a special device.
Step 3
Find out the rules for importing animals into the country whose borders you will be crossing. Some countries require additional vaccinations against infectious diseases. To import an animal to some countries, it is required to pass a blood test for antibodies to rabies. It should be noted that in a number of countries the import of dogs of certain breeds is prohibited.
All this information can be obtained from the consulate of the respective country.
Step 4
Obtain a permit for the temporary export of the dog abroad from a representative of the RKF. The document must be certified by the seal of the RKF.
Step 5
If you are flying by plane, be sure to inform that you are traveling with a dog when purchasing tickets. Do not forget to check the rules for transporting animals with a particular airline.
