Instructions

Step 1

Ferrets cannot be compared to any domestic animal. They are loyal enough, but at the same time independent. They also choose the owner for themselves, and many are generally attached to only one person and are very jealous of him even for family members. With other pets, they may well make friends if taken to the house at a young age. While an adult ferret is not very willing to accept a stranger on its territory.

Step 2

This pet can be kept in a cage or allowed to walk freely around the house. The cage should be spacious enough. It is much better if it is a small aviary.

Step 3

Most ferrets are still explorers and like to stick their noses in hard-to-reach places, which they often suffer from. Therefore, it is necessary to better hide the cords and close the access behind the refrigerator, stove and sofa, in general, in all places from which it will be difficult to remove the animal later.

Step 4

Disease immunity in these pets is very weak. They can easily catch a cold or a virus from another animal. Therefore, if the animal has become lethargic, has stopped eating and drinking, and the coat has lost its luster, an urgent need to run to the doctor. The disease develops very quickly in a ferret, so you may simply not have time to save it.

Step 5

Ferrets have a very specific unpleasant odor. Therefore, they need to be bathed from time to time. It is also necessary to accustom them to the tray from childhood, since the smell of urine is very poorly excreted from furniture. You will also have to cut your claws, because, like cats, they can strip furniture.

Step 6

Given that even a domesticated ferret remains a predator, it needs to be fed meat, fish and live insects. You can also include raw eggs and vegetables in your diet. It is necessary to give the animal vitamins so that the hair does not fall out and the bones and teeth are strong.

Step 7

As you can see, this is quite a good, not particularly problematic pet for home conditions. Yes, it has its drawbacks, but there is no such thing as a perfect animal. With proper care, the ferret will delight its owner for a long time - about ten years.
