It often happens that, having one dog in the house, you want to have a second dog. Sometimes the reason for the appearance of a second dog is an accident, for example, the death of the previous owner, sometimes you bring a "loss" into the house. In any case, the process of accustoming two males to each other will require a lot of strength and energy from you.
Instructions
Step 1
Before bringing a new dog into the house, make sure you are completely obedient. If your dog does not obey you unquestioningly, you will not be able to ensure discipline in the house, and two sexually mature dogs will not only destroy your home, but also become a potential threat to your loved ones.
Step 2
Introduce the dogs in neutral territory so that your dog does not have the advantage of being the owner. Before bringing a stranger into the house, the dogs must meet in the territory unfamiliar to both of them three or four times. After that, you can bring the dogs into the house at the same time.
Step 3
Separate the dogs into different rooms. Release in free movement around the apartment in turn. Eliminate all opportunities for argument and division until the animals get used to it. Bowls, toys, the attention of the owner - these are the main reasons for clarifying the relationship.
Step 4
Walk the dogs together, give them maximum physical activity so that they do not have the strength to quarrel. Lead from the walk at the same time, otherwise your dog may begin to defend the territory.
Step 5
Gradually accustom the dogs to each other's company in the house, let them play together for 1-2 hours. At the slightest sign of a quarrel, separate them in different rooms.
Step 6
Start feeding the dogs together only in your presence. Feed your dog first - he is dominant, then give something tasty to the newcomer. Do not let your dog take away food from the guest, he must understand that this is your decision, you allowed.
Step 7
If dogs begin to growl at each other, immediately yell at them, distract them with a command. Do not approach at this moment and do not touch the dogs with your hands - this is a direct provocation for a fight.
Step 8
Let the dogs measure their strength on a walk, but do not allow any fights at home. Make sure that the bickering does not turn into a tough fight. In this case, the dogs can only be separated by two. Most likely, after this fight, the animals will have to live in separate rooms.
Step 9
In your absence, be sure to isolate the dogs from each other. Even if, getting used to each other, they will sleep together in an embrace, leaving the house, breed the dogs in different rooms. Don't risk it.
Step 10
Always punish the instigator of the fight. Dogs should understand that you are the leader of the pack, and you will not allow anyone to infringe on this role. Any disobedience must be stopped immediately. If the second male responds to aggression, he is also entitled to punishment.
