The dog always perceives his house and the surrounding area as property and tries to kick out anyone who encroaches on it. But sometimes it so happens that you have to bring another dog into the house. In order to prevent large-scale wars and preserve the nervous system not only for the dogs, but also for ourselves, it is necessary to properly introduce the animals to each other.
Instructions
Step 1
The second dog gets to our house in different ways. It happens that you could not pass by the gullible eyes of an abandoned animal. Perhaps you were asked to temporarily hold your pet by friends, as they are going on vacation, or perhaps you just dreamed of a second dog for a long time and finally decided to make your dream come true. In any case, you need to correctly "introduce" the newbie to your dog.
Step 2
It's good if you have the opportunity to introduce the dogs even before they end up in the same apartment. Ask the owner of the other dog to go for a walk with you and your dog. Let the dogs get to know each other in neutral territory. It will be great if they play together - after all, the game is a direct path to friendship.
Step 3
If you do not have the opportunity to introduce the dogs in advance, then the new dog must be brought into the house carefully. If your dog is friendly, you can try to introduce the animals right away. If they do not show aggression towards each other, then you can let the new dog look around and come to his senses.
Step 4
If your dog is aggressive, then close it in another room, and then introduce a new dog into the apartment. Let her look around and your dog sniff the new scent. Then try to introduce the dogs - here you cannot do without help. Take your dog by the collar and lead him into the room where your helper will hold the new dog in the same way. Let the dogs sniff and praise them. If all is well, then you can stop insuring pets for collars.
Step 5
If the dogs are aggressive towards each other, you can try to keep them for several days in different rooms. Having got used to the smell of each other, it will be easier for them to find contact.
Step 6
If that doesn't work, try giving the dogs a chance to figure it out on their own. Bring them together in the same room, and be prepared to intervene. As a rule, dogs find out which of them is in charge without hurting each other. After the relationship is sorted out, one dog will have to come to terms with the position of a subordinate.
Step 7
In the process of communication between dogs, conflicts are also possible. Over time, this should come to naught. But, remember: in the house you are the master, therefore all attempts at quarrels should be stopped by a strict shout.
Step 8
When petting someone else's dog, do not forget about your own. Your attention must be equally distributed, otherwise the struggle for your affection will become the main cause of conflicts.
