If you've just brought a toddler or adult cat home, feed and place it in a prepared litter box immediately after eating. He should stand where he will be all the subsequent time, while your pet will live with you.
Step 2
He may not immediately understand what you want from him. Therefore, in the process of education, please be patient. Keep the tray clean. Adults and small felines do not like wetting their paws more than anything else. Due to their natural penchant for cleanliness, they may simply ignore a dirty litter box. Remember that even if in the first couple of hours of his stay at your house the cat did its business where it was supposed to, but you did not clean up after it in time, the "fluffy" next time will find another place, or even completely weaned from the tray …
Step 3
Get ready for the fact that kittens and even adult cats can play naughty. For example, use a specially designated place and at the same time mark in the corners. Perhaps the pet was scared by someone when he climbed into the tray. If he is afraid, then be sure that he will bypass this place. Try moving the tray to a different location or changing it to another. Choose a safe location so that your cat gets used to it and feels comfortable.

In no case do not use aggression if your pet has "chosen" shoes or new furniture. Cats are vindictive. They can harbor a grudge for a long time, and then suddenly attack.
