Diseases of bees annually cause considerable damage to apiaries. The greatest danger is - ascospherosis. And although veterinary science has proposed a number of drugs for the treatment of this disease, there is still no cardinal solution to the problem.
Some success is achieved with strict adherence to preventive measures, but for various reasons, not every beekeeper succeeds in this. Rehabilitation of families usually comes down to working inside the hive. This is either spraying the bees, or feeding them with syrup with medications.
It is believed that the disease must be blocked at an early stage. It is best to feed the bees with doughy food with medicines. Add the drug "Unisan" to kandy in doses recommended for feeding with syrup. Top dressing is carried out twice: the first - at the end of February, the second - at the end of March (0.5 g per family).
During the main spring audit, combs are left in families, densely covered by bees. This formation of the nest helps them maintain the required temperature, even with sharp external fluctuations. A very important condition for ridding apiaries from infection is the renewal of combs by less than 30-40 percent annually. These methods of combating the disease give a positive effect against the background of systematic breeding work.
Every beekeeper probably has healthy families. It is from them that you need to get healthy offspring. Layers from such families are made as strong as possible, at 6-7 frames. If it is not possible to make such a layering from one family, then teams from several, obviously healthy ones, are made. If it was not possible to obtain a queen by this time, the bees in the layers hatch themselves.
The outlined methods are a reliable way to improve the health of bees, and for a beekeeper there is no greater joy than having a healthy apiary.
