The owner of a purebred dog must know how to fill out paperwork for the animal. Having a passport gives you the right to participate in dog breeders' clubs and to participate in various competitions.
Instructions
Step 1
An international veterinary passport is a document that ideally should have every animal, regardless of whether it is purebred or not. It contains the basic data that you need to know about the animal. When filling it out, follow a few rules. If you buy a purebred dog at the club, then ask for your passport right away. If the animal does not have a passport, this most likely indicates breed defects, and such a dog cannot count on gold medals at exhibitions.
Step 2
If you are making a passport yourself, go to a government veterinary clinic. A private veterinary clinic can vaccinate, but it does not have the right to issue a passport.
Step 3
Make sure that all the basic information about the animal is indicated on the first page of the passport: its date of birth, nickname, breed, color. Also in this section of the passport you need to enter information about vaccinations, deworming and any other treatments that the dog has undergone. Also, information about the owner of the dog is entered into the document.
Step 4
When entering vaccination data in the passport, paste stickers into it, which indicate the name of the drugs and their expiration date, as well as the doctor's signature and personal seal. The date of introduction of vaccines must be indicated.
Step 5
Fill in the reproduction box. You can do this yourself. Indicate the day of the beginning of each estrus and the date of mating. Do not forget to include the number of puppies born and their date of birth.
Step 6
If you are going to export a thoroughbred animal abroad, make sure that all the data in the passport is filled in correctly. Only a veterinary passport can become the basis for obtaining permission to transport a dog to another country. Remember that vaccination must be carried out no later than one month before departure.
