When your dog is scared, when something hurts, or, conversely, she is happy and she has fun - she is in a hurry to share her feelings with you. And he does it by barking. If the barking of a dog annoys you, your family members and neighbors, you need to find free time and take care of raising the dog. Remember that the owner is solely responsible for socializing the dog.

Step 1
Find out the reason for the barking
It is especially important to deal with the cause of the barking in the event that such "attacks" began in your dog relatively recently. It happens that uncontrolled barking is a request for help. Examine the dog carefully. Make sure nothing hurts her. If necessary, take her to the vet.
Step 2
Try to divert the dog's attention
Use the commands "Sit" and "Lie down" that are already familiar to the dog. If your dog starts barking, tell him to “Sit”. Be sure to reward your dog after each command. Do not count on a quick effect - correcting the dog's behavior requires long and painstaking work and frequent training.
Step 3
Enter a new command
Select the word that you will use as a command. It can be the words "enough", "quiet", "stop", "be silent" or any other short words. Issue this command every time you want to stop barking. Reward your dog for following the command. Use water from a spray bottle or regular newspaper rolled into a tube as punishment and "intimidation".
Step 4
Never let your dog get what he wants with barking. Very often, dogs try to manipulate their owners by barking. Thus, the dog can demand a treat, ask to go outside or attract attention when he is bored and wants to play. Remember that if you go along with the animal at this moment and provide the dog with what he wants, this type of behavior will be firmly fixed in his memory. Do not give in to the impulse, even if you really want the dog to shut up, and the easiest option is to give him what he wants. Be sure to wait for the dog to calm down. Praise the dog and give him something to eat. Soon your pet will understand that he only gets a treat when he is silent.
Step 5
It should be remembered that guarding your territory is the most natural behavior for a dog. And punishing her for that is simply not fair. It is only necessary to slightly adjust her behavior. If your pet barks, hearing the steps of strangers outside the door so that the entire staircase already hates him fiercely - it's time to start training. Ask helpers to walk up the stairs, ride the elevator, and stomp on the landing. Correct the dog's behavior using the Stop and Enough commands. At the next stage of training, ask the assistants to pull the door and try to open the entrance locks. Encourage dog barking. Regular exercise of this type will teach your dog the correct behavior.

Use special collars
The citrus collar is designed in such a way that you can control the barking of your pet even without being at home. As soon as the dog begins to bark, a stream of water with the scent of lemon will splash out of the collar. From surprise, the animal will be silent.

There are, of course, more radical methods of weaning a dog from barking - electroshock collars, parfors and surgery to truncate the vocal cords. The decision to use such methods of "education" is made by the owner and completely remains on his conscience.
