With the arrival of the first frost, it is necessary to take care of the birds, because it is difficult for them to survive in the conditions of a real Russian winter. Take care of the birds, make a feeder with your own hands, it's so easy to do at home from a regular plastic bottle.
It is necessary
- - five liter plastic bottle;
- - liter plastic bottle;
- - stationery knife;
- - scotch tape;
- - wire;
- - feed.
Instructions
Step 1
You will need a three-liter or five-liter plastic bottle that is round in shape. In the upper part of the bottle, make a hole with a clerical knife, which should be a few centimeters less than the diameter of a liter bottle. This hole will prevent the bottle from slipping down in the future.
Step 2
Take a marker and draw two large circles on the sides of the bottle, which should be opposite each other. Make holes according to the drawn markings, birds will fly into them. Leave small protective bumpers underneath to prevent the wind from blowing food out of the bottle. Do not discard the cut off circle, it will serve as a kind of saucer.
Step 3
Secure the plastic saucer to the bottom of the large bottle with glue or tape. Then take a 1 liter plastic bottle, turn it upside down and insert it into the top hole made in the large container. Push it down so that there is a gap of a couple of centimeters between the neck and the homemade saucer.
Step 4
Tape the connection of the two bottles with tape. Thus, the structure will not move or break even under the influence of strong winds. Also, the scotch tape will prevent moisture from getting into the cracks between the bottles and will not wet the food.
Step 5
In the upper part of the liter bottle (on the side), make a small hole, through which you will later fill in the food. These can be seeds, bread crumbs, or millet. The feeder is ready, all that remains is to find a suitable place and fasten it with a wire to the tree trunk.
Step 6
Perhaps the first few days, or even a couple of weeks, your feeder will not cause much excitement among local birds, since they will need some time to explore new sources of food. Soon the feeder will become a favorite feeding place for tits and sparrows.
