Pigeons always settle next to people. They can be found in parks, squares, squares, near monuments and in markets. But often it is because of such a close proximity to people that these birds receive various injuries. And only man can save the life of these defenseless creatures.
It is necessary
- - boiled yolk with milk / baby food;
- - spacious box / cage;
- - veterinarian consultation.
Instructions
Step 1
If you find a pigeon chick that has fallen out of the nest, first carefully examine it. If he has no visible injuries (fractures of paws, wings), if he is active and tries to run away from you, then postpone a routine examination by a veterinarian and feed your pet as soon as possible.
Step 2
The fact is that chicks eat every 3-4 hours. It is not known how long the baby lay on the ground, perhaps he is very hungry. Crush the boiled chicken yolk, mix it with warm milk and use a pipette or large syringe to feed this gruel to the chick. If you don't have the food you need, you can feed him baby food.
Step 3
The chicks of pigeons have a massive, wide beak, but in the early stages of development, they cannot peck food on their own. Therefore, putting a feeder in front of them is useless. Only after a while will they begin to eat like adult birds. And before that, you must replace their "mom" and feed them from a pipette every 3-4 hours.
Step 4
Give your pet a spacious and durable home. Keep in mind that the chick needs to walk, stretch its wings. A large box made of thick cardboard or a spacious cage may be suitable for temporary residence.
Step 5
Fill the bottom of the cage with paper filler. Keep in mind that you will have to change it often.
Step 6
Place the bird cage or box out of the cold, draft, and noise.
Step 7
Watch the chick develop. If after a while he begins to slowly take off, run vigorously, actively react to your appearance, study the environment with interest, then we can say with confidence that the bird is developing normally. If any of these signs are absent, contact your veterinarian, and preferably an ornithologist.
Step 8
If you decide to leave an adult wounded pigeon, then you must determine the nature of his injuries. It is often difficult to do this yourself, so see a specialist. He will not only dress the bird correctly, put on splints and carry out all the necessary procedures, but also prescribe medications that are necessary for the bird's recovery. If you refuse the services of a specialist, then the broken leg may grow crookedly, and the wound will become even more inflamed.
