To make a feeder trough, first decide what you will use to make it heavier. Lead is mainly used for this. And you can melt it or use self-adhesive weights to balance the discs. The second option is easier - the weight is already indicated on the weights. And if you cast lead, you need a small piece of wood to cast lead strips.
It is necessary
In addition to lead, you will need a plastic bottle with a capacity of 1.5 liters, a stationery stapler, ordinary scissors, a ruler, a piece of strong wire, a soldering iron, and a felt-tip pen
Instructions
Step 1
If you decide to melt lead, take care of air extraction and safety for eyes and skin, as the molten lead may spray out.
Step 2
What about the wooden blank? Take any board and use a chisel to choose a recess suitable for casting lead. Choose the length and width at your discretion, however, the optimal length will be 15 cm, width - 10 cm and depth - 2-3 mm. Why choose a tree? Yes, because when casting lead into such a workpiece, it never splashes and is easily removed from it.
Step 3
After pouring out the strip, weigh it and determine how much its weight falls on the width of each centimeter of the plate surface. Now, according to its weight, cut the plate into strips 10 cm long. You can mark as you like, since lead is quite soft. It is enough just to screw or scratch the number a little. If the plate is too thick, just flatten it with a hammer.
Step 4
Now take a plastic bottle, cut a wide strip from it from the middle and mark it into narrower strips to prepare the base of your feeder. Fold these strips into rings and staple the aligned edges together. Twist a loop out of the wire and place the lead plate on the workpiece, securing it on one side.
Step 5
Now burn with a soldering iron or punch holes in the base of the feeder. If using a soldering iron, smooth the burn area with your finger. Irregularities in this case will be dented inward, so the food will hold on tightly.
Step 6
Such a feeder has good buoyancy, which helps it to avoid snagging on the eyebrows, as well as to quickly raise the fish to the surface of the water.
