Feline illnesses can appear suddenly in both an adult and a very small kitten. When cleaning up after your pet, always check if the kitten has diarrhea. And if she appears, instead of sitting back and feeling the cat's nose from time to time, try to identify the cause of the disorder as soon as possible.
Instructions
Step 1
In a healthy cat, the stool is not soft, brown in color. Various deviations in color (green, gray, with blood streaks) or in consistency (liquid, foamy) indicate bowel disease - internal bleeding or the lack of the ability to absorb certain substances. Observe how often the kitten goes to the toilet and how long the diarrhea lasts. If the disorder continues for more than a day, sound the alarm at all bells, namely, urgently show the animal to the veterinarian.
Step 2
Diarrhea can be caused by food allergies or overeating. Perhaps the kitten is full of carrion or spoiled food. To avoid disturbances, monitor your pet's diet. Do not let him eat fatty, fried, salty, spicy foods. When a kitten sees a treat, it can eat it with paper or grass, and this can also cause diarrhea. Exclude milk from the animal's diet for a while. Instead, try giving him water-cooked thin rice porridge.
Step 3
If the porridge does not help or the kitten refuses to eat, give a few crumbs of activated charcoal. Remember that it is used in exceptional circumstances and is usually given to adult cats. The calculation is one tablet per 10 kg of weight. Do not deprive the kitten of fluid, let him drink as much as possible. If necessary, water it yourself. Take your pet to your veterinarian as soon as possible.
Step 4
Do not treat a kitten with vodka or "human" pills for intestinal problems. You cannot be completely sure about the dosage and the effectiveness of the drug on a weakened feline body.
Step 5
Long-term upset in a kitten does not always mean that he “ate something”. Perhaps the baby has worms. If the animal is very small, let your veterinarian get rid of the worms. Do not trust your pet's life to your own guesses - remember that time is valuable, and a few hours of delay can cost the animal's life.
