Diarrhea in a domestic parrot can be the result of illness, unbalanced diet, and some other reasons. They should be installed in any case - the treatment of your feathered friend largely depends on this.
Instructions
Step 1
First of all, carefully study the nature of the bird's droppings - what color it is and how liquid it is. If possible, take a photo and go for a consultation with a specialist. You must describe in great detail the symptoms and possible causes of its manifestation.
Step 2
Specialists can be found not only in the veterinary clinic. Doctors give good advice and recommendations today on specialized Internet forums. If they suspect something serious or cannot help you in absentia, they will definitely tell you where and to whom to contact. It is still better not to engage in self-medication.
Step 3
Give your pet first aid before seeing a specialist. First of all, you should provide the parrot with warmth, since in case of any disease, the bird's body begins to actively consume it. To do this, install a 40 to 60 watt lamp under the bottom of the cage at a distance of about one and a half meters from it. Warm up daily for two to three hours. The exception is when blood is noticeable in the droppings.
Step 4
You can treat diarrhea in a parrot with various drugs. For example, add the immunomodulating agent "Gamavit" to the drinker - ½ ml per 50 ml of drinking water. Often it is simply buried in the beak, four to five drops daily. The entire course of treatment with Gamavit is approximately seven days.
Step 5
Try using dry bacteria available from veterinary pharmacies. For example, Vet 1.1 is a good tool. Give the drug to a parrot twice a day, adding one drop to drinking water. Count on the course for seven days.
