A dog is not only a man's friend, happily wagging its tail and enthusiastically chasing a ball. A large dog is a serious weapon that you need to be able to control. A huge uncontrollable dog poses a danger both to the owner and household members and to the people around him - it can frighten, bite or knock down. You can choose one of two options: get a decorative dog or a well-trained dog. Miniature dogs such as the Yorkshire Terrier, Toy Terrier, Miniature Pinscher, Chihuahua, Pekingese, Chinese Crested, Miniature Poodle or West Highland White Terrier will not require any serious training from you. Of course, it is also desirable for them to know the basic commands: to be able to return to the owner, leave the object of interest to them, stop, sit down or lie down at the request of the owner, walk nearby and not show aggression towards people. But at least a passerby is unlikely to have a serious injury if your dog still decides to disobey.

There are also a number of breeds that are easier to train than others. If you intend to get serious about raising a friend, buy a Sheltie, Collie, Labrador Retriever or Golden Retriever, German Shepherd, Spaniel, Corgi.

Hair care

Many dog breeds require careful grooming, and if you are not ready to master hairdressing on your own or regularly take your pet to the salon, leaving a lot of money there, you better avoid breeds that require regular trimming and subsequent haircuts. These include many terriers and schnauzers. But such a long-haired dog like a collie only needs regular brushing, which can be combined with watching a TV show or talking with pets, so caring for such a dog will not be difficult for beginners who have free time.

Remember that even a short-haired dog needs to be brushed periodically with a special brush.

Long walks

Any dog, even a decorative one, which is used to walking at home in a litter box, should be regularly removed. But while a leisurely half-hour walk around the house will be enough for some pets, others require long and intense walking. If you are not ready to run and jump for several hours every day with your dog, as well as explore every nook and cranny in your area, choose breeds such as English or French Bulldogs, Shar Pei, Chow Chow. They are quite phlegmatic and like to spend time at home on a comfortable couch.

Husky is a breed that is incredibly popular now. However, this dog may not be suitable for a beginner, because it is difficult to train and requires long walks.

When choosing a dog, do not rely solely on breed characteristics. After settling on a specific breeder, talk to his dogs. Get to know the mother and father of your future pet. If they are obedient and well-mannered dogs, it is easy for you to communicate with them and you feel sympathy, most likely, you will not have problems with your dog either.
