First, let's decide on the type of product, that we knit a sports jumper with a hood, classic with a collar or with a shirt collar.
Step 2
We will determine from which threads we knit thick or thin, based on this, we calculate the number of loops. For example, I knit my favorite toy terrier from thick threads (in 4 threads). I dial 52 loops for a hooded jumper (36cm - chest circumference), for a simple sweater 36 loops, so that my head can easily crawl (24cm in a circle).
Step 3
We begin to knit: Hood on two needles - with an elastic band 1x1 (about 30 rows for toy), then we connect and knit in a circular one, first with an elastic band of rows 6-8 (for the length of the neck), then with a satin stitch transition to the breast of row 3-4. For a sweater, we knit a neck along the length of the neck in a circular manner, and then move on to the chest, adding 1 loop on each knitting needle (better randomly). For a shirt collar - the collar is shorter, we knit the collar, picking up the collar loops.
Step 4
We close 4 cm each on the armholes for the cuffs on the front legs with a gap of 8 cm on the chest. We knit a gap of 21 rows, and the back of 12 rows and connect everything. We tie the jumper to the desired length, not forgetting to knit an elastic band 3 - 4 cm in the conclusion.
