Choosing a guinea pig
First, compare your options with your care requirements. When you do not have enough time for a morning walk with the animal or cannot provide certain conditions, for example, a large space for large dogs, then it is better to get a guinea pig.
Once in a pet store, pay attention to the conditions of detention: whether there is cleanliness in the cage and whether there is food with water in the cage. A young and healthy pig is highly mobile, with an excellent appetite.
Having looked at the pig, you need to hold it and take a good look at it. The coat should not have bald patches, it should shine and be thick. Otherwise, you risk getting an unhealthy animal. A guinea pig at a young age should weigh no more than 500 g. This suggests that the animal was not overfed and it has excellent digestion. The main thing is that the pet is not very light.
If an external examination does not reveal signs of disease, then you can safely acquire a new family member. Do not forget to buy a cage, vitamins, drinker and food for your pet.
