The Don Sphynx is a Russian breed of "hairless" hairless cats, muscular and graceful. It was bred in Rostov-on-Don, hence the name. These cats are quite unusual, but caring for them does not require much work - the owners simply should not forget about some of the subtleties.

Don Sphynxes are not capricious and fragile

The Don Sphinx cannot be called capricious or complex in content. But due to its unusualness, some important points should not be forgotten. So, "don" is thermophilic, does not tolerate the cold, so it should be kept warm at home, protected from drafts - outdoor maintenance in our harsh climate is excluded.

Sphynxes have a good appetite, eat more than ordinary cats. This is due to the increased heat transfer of the body: they spend more energy, therefore, the skin of the Don Sphynxes is unusually hot. In matters of feeding, it is better to consult with a specialist: the "dons" are quite unpretentious in food, they can even eat vegetables and sweets, but they cannot be fed to everyone in a row. After all, this is a genetically bred breed, in which the stomach is one of the weak points - this must be treated with special attention.

Also, the Don Sphynxes do not have eyelashes, so mucus can accumulate in the conjunctival sacs in front of the eyes - it must be carefully removed with clean cotton or cloth.

The rest of the Don Sphynxes have a number of advantages over other breeds. For example, due to the absence of fur, the Don Sphynxes do not need to be bathed often, but simply wipe them off with a warm, damp cloth. However, you should still bathe them occasionally - in order to avoid diseases and unpleasant odors. By the way, the Don Sphynxes tolerate hygienic procedures quite calmly, therefore clipping the claws will not cause problems for the owners.

You do not have to collect wool for them throughout the apartment, there is no need to comb. For the same reason, Don Sphynxes are much less likely to cause a reaction in people with an allergy to cats, because there is not even a characteristic smell from them. Cats rarely have estrus, cats rarely mark their territory, kittens easily get used to the toilet.

The maternal instinct of Don cats is well developed - they themselves cope with childbirth, which is quite easy, and take care of their kittens, which are born strong and develop quickly.

Don Sphynxes are very fond of their owners

If we talk about character, there is no need to make any special efforts in terms of content. Don Sphynxes are kind and absolutely non-conflict: you do not have to protect children from them - these cats get along well with all household members. Also, the neighborhood with other pets, even with dogs, does not promise any problems.

Don Sphynxes are not aggressive at all, affectionate and playful. But because of a strong attachment to the owner, they require a lot of attention from him to themselves - these are not "cats that walk by themselves", they love to participate in people's lives. If the owner ignores them, they may be offended - but, I must say, "dons" are unforgiving and forgive quickly. However, many representatives of this breed are quite tactful and not intrusive, to some extent even lazy. Despite the fact that the smart Don Sphynxes remember the commands of the owner well, they are proud enough and in no hurry to demonstrate to others the wonders of training.

Keep in mind that these cats are very loyal to one owner, so giving them from hand to hand is very problematic and highly undesirable.
