Cats are the most popular pets, these predatory creatures, descended from the forest cat, get along well with people. And people, in turn, try to make them even more beautiful, obedient or unusual, so new breeds appear, which less and less resemble an ordinary domestic cat. The most famous breeds today are British, Persian, Siamese, Mainecoon, Exotic, Abyssinian and others.
British cat
Quite large and heavy, "stuffed", as if plush animals with a large head, wide nose and huge eyes - these are representatives of the popular British cat breed today. They have small, rounded ears, a short neck and a powerful body with a wide chest, but despite their impressive appearance, these cats are cute and affectionate. Their character, as a rule, is calm, light, not aggressive. They rarely get sick, do not require special care and take root well in any conditions.
Persian cats
Long-haired, with a characteristic high, short nose and round face, Persian cats have long been a popular breed. They are preferred for their unusual appearance, delicate long hair and loyal, affectionate nature. Taking care of these cats is not easy, the coat needs to be brushed regularly, and the most blunt-nosed representatives of the breed - extreme sportsmen - also require an attentive approach to nutrition.
Siamese cats
Slender, flexible, graceful Siamese cats stand out for their bright color, which is called color point. The short light coat on the legs, tail and muzzle becomes dark, almost black. The Siamese have long, thin legs, high brown ears, and a narrow muzzle with blue eyes. These cats have a difficult character - they love attention and require communication, they often meow or make noise when they are not noticed, they know how to remember offenders and take revenge, they usually attach themselves to only one person.
Maincoons
Huge massive Mainecoons are actively gaining popularity among cat lovers. This is the largest breed of cats, they can weigh up to 9 kilograms. They have a particularly large and long tail, an elongated and large body, a broad head with large pointed ears. Mainecoons eat much more than ordinary domestic cats, but this is a minor drawback compared to the advantages of this breed: these cats are calm, friendly, do not spoil furniture and do not make noise, and even perfectly amenable to training.
Exot
An exotic or exotic cat is very similar to the Persians, but thanks to its dense, thick coat of medium length, a flat muzzle with bright round eyes and a childish direct expression, small plush ears, it looks even sweeter, which is why it is considered one of the most popular breeds in the world. By nature, they are curious and active, but friendly, they hardly meow, they are very attached to a person.
Other exotic breeds
The Abyssinian cat is least of all similar to a domestic cat and resembles a wild predator of an unknown medium-sized feline species. She has an elongated flexible body, a sharp muzzle with large rounded ears and very intelligent, large slanting eyes. Its short, smooth coat makes it look like an elaborately carved figurine. Abyssinian cats do not require special care, are active, they are constantly on the move.
Very short-haired, as if completely devoid of hair, cats are called sphinxes. They have soft, velvety skin with folds, very high and large ears and expressive eyes. This breed looks unusual and even frightening, but the owners of sphinxes know that these animals are very smart, affectionate, sociable and attached to people.
