Many people want to have a kitten, but they are stopped by the fact that there will be a lot of wool in the house. This is often the main reason for abandoning a pet. In fact, caring for six animals is not as difficult as it might seem at first glance. It is enough to carry out regular combing and washing.
Instructions
Step 1
There are several types of combs for combing: depending on the frequency of the teeth and on the shape of the comb (in the form of a glove, comb, brush, and so on). Brushing should be done in accordance with the long coat of your pet.
Step 2
Short-haired cats, for example, Siamese, Russian Blue, Scottish Fold do not require special grooming, it is enough to comb 1-2 a week. For such breeds, they take combs with frequent teeth, comb them out first according to hair growth, then against.
Step 3
Long-haired (Persian, Maine Coons, Siberian cats) require more thorough and frequent combing, at least once a day. For such breeds, combs with sparse thick teeth with medium frequency are suitable. In the process of grooming, it is better to alternate combs and not scratch against the grain, otherwise the hair can be damaged.
Step 4
Bald cats, such as the sphinx, do not require combing due to the absence of a pronounced hairline.
Step 5
In addition to combing, you need to wash your pet, and many of them take this procedure quite painfully. For cats that do not go out for a walk, 1 bath every 3 months is enough. In cases where the cat or kitty is very dirty and their personal hygiene is not enough to remove the dirt, you do not need to wait 3 months, bathe immediately.
Step 6
For those who like to take a walk on the street, it is advisable to arrange a bath at least once a month in order to reduce the risk of contracting various street diseases. The paws should be wiped every time after a walk.
Step 7
Bald cats need special care, so they are washed every week.
Step 8
Note that human shampoo will dry out your pet's skin, so get a cat shampoo that matches your breed.
Step 9
It should be noted that very often cats do not like it when the owners arrange hygiene procedures, so it is better to accustom the pet to this from childhood. Start off with a short comb, 2-3 minutes, then gradually work up to 10-15 minutes.
Step 10
Washing should be carried out in warm water, after which the animal should be dried with a soft towel. The first baths are best done without shampoo.
Step 11
Your pet himself will let you know what effect he likes, over time, he will get used to these simple procedures, but the owners need to be patient and be attentive to the behavior of the animal.
