Step 1
Prepare a treat. This must be food that the puppy will eat with great pleasure and will certainly not refuse it. Take the tidbit in your hand and make it so that the dog knows that you have something seductive for him. Please note that you should not give a lot at a time. Your task is to develop a reflex. And for this it is not at all necessary to feed the puppy a whole bowl, it is enough just to indicate the very fact of receiving a reward.
Step 2
Stand next to the puppy and clearly say the command "Sit". Then raise your hand and move it so that the puppy has to lift its head. The optimal trajectory is from the starting point to the middle of the dog's forehead. The puppy, trying to follow your movement, will begin to lift his eyes up, but since this is not very convenient, at one point he will sit down. This is where you can praise him, give him a treat and pat him behind the ear. Remember that the scheme should always be exactly this: first the command, then the execution, then the treat. Any deviations will only push you back. The animal cannot understand what exactly you want from him, if each time he receives a reward after performing different actions. Who knows, maybe the owner wants to be twisted and licked in front of him?
Step 3
Keep track of the clarity of all actions, their sequence and cleanliness of execution. This should become a kind of ritual for the puppy. Command by voice, its execution and feed. After you achieve obedience for the treat, you can gradually teach your baby to follow the command without him. Of course, you need to encourage him anyway, so that the reflex continues to receive positive reinforcement. Over time, the dog will understand that the owner needs to execute the command in any case and will do it no matter what.
