The execution of the command "die" or "sleep" by the dog often delights people and is regarded as a spectacular trick. You need to train your pet in this command in stages, regularly forcing the dog to repeat the required actions.
Instructions
Step 1
Start training only on a suitable surface that will not cause unpleasant associations in the dog. The surface must be clean, level, dry and soft. If, for example, you are training your pet in a park, find an even and clean clearing and make sure that the ground does not have unpleasant or pungent odors. Otherwise, teaching the command can cause negative emotions in the dog, especially if he is squeamish and does not like to lie on dirty ground.
Step 2
Tell the dog to lie down. Squat in front of her. Take the treat your pet loves the most and hold it up to the side of the animal's face. Feed a couple of treats to your dog, and then begin to move your hand away from the dog. Repeat until the dog reaches for food and falls to one side.
Step 3
Place the treat on the ground and let the dog lie down and eat it. Praise your pet, pet him. Then have the dog lie still for at least a few seconds. Praise your pet and let him stand.
Step 4
Repeat all the previous steps, while entering the command "die". Get the dog to lie down on its side at your command and freeze. Then reinforce the effect: bring the treat to the animal's nose, but do not let it stand up or grab the food from your hands. Get the dog to lie still, and then slowly move your hand away from the animal's muzzle. Repeat the exercise several times so that the dog has a firm grasp of what is required of it. Then let the dog stand up with the command "revive", praise it and reward it with a treat.
Step 5
Continue training until you teach the dog to instantly fall and freeze at the command "die", and then get up and run to you at the command "revive". Praise your pet every time and give him a small treat as a reward.
