The expression "puppy joy" did not appear out of nowhere. Dogs often rejoice at the appearance of the owner or another familiar person, and they express their joy by starting to jump and try to touch you with their paws. It is not very pleasant if the dog has dirty paws or if you have new tights. Most often, puppies and young dogs have this habit, which means that the situation can most likely be corrected.
Instructions
Step 1
Try pushing your dog down every time it tries to jump at you or someone else. Give her the command "Place" or "Sit" so that she simply does not have time to jump. Perhaps soon she herself will stop jumping on people.
Step 2
Start with the gentlest way of parenting. When you enter a house or apartment and the dog rushes at you, press it with your knees, when it is near, do not let it stand on its hind legs. Praise your dog and let him see that you are happy when he just sits. Sit down and let the dog sniff your face. Distract the animal with something so that it does not interfere with your undressing and entering the house. If your dog knows the commands, send him to the location.
Step 3
Try the harder method if the previous one doesn't work. When the dog is jumping on you, lightly kick it on the knee, or put your knee up so that the dog rests on it with his chest. Do this very gently, do not hurt the dog. Praise her, be kind: the animal should not think that your gesture is a gesture of displeasure.
Step 4
Try the next method if the previous ones didn't help. Get a spray bottle or water gun, fill it with water and place it in the hallway in an accessible place so you can quickly grab it as soon as you enter. When the dog tries to jump on you, spray it with water in the nose or eyes (just make sure that the jet is not too strong - do not hurt the dog). If the dog stops trying to jump on you, praise him, and if not, spray again.
