Step 1
The puppy jumps out of an excess of joy and desire to touch a person. Often the owner himself encourages this bad habit, specially leaning towards the baby and rejoicing when he licks his face. The dog takes this joy for approval, so the habit is reinforced.
Step 2
To rid the dog of the bad habit, and yourself from the spoiled clothes, rigidly wean the puppy from this manner of greeting. It is best to teach him the "sit" command as early as possible. As soon as the puppy rushes to you, strictly tell him "Sit"! As soon as the dog obeys, reward him with a treat.
Step 3
If the puppy jumps to greet the owner who has entered the scrap, try not to provoke him. Do not call or pet the dog when entering the apartment. Ignore him, give the puppy time to calm down. Then you can call the dog and talk to it. Your pet should understand that loud greetings are not encouraged, but the owner is not at all opposed to playing with him.

If your puppy is jumping on strangers, don't try to joke the situation. Remember that passers-by can be afraid of dogs, even the smallest ones. Therefore, at the initial stage of training, when you are not yet sure that the pet has mastered the commands, release it from the leash only in deserted places or on a special dog area.
