The rabbit is cut on the table or on the lap. Begin by brushing to remove dirt from the coat. Then, with scissors with sharp ends, starting from the back, they cut in narrow strips, gradually passing to the sides. Cut carefully so as not to injure the animal. The length of the wool left should be no more than 5 mm. The abdomen is cut only in males. The fluff on the belly of females is not cut, but only slightly trimmed, due to the presence of nipples.
You need to turn the rabbit on its back, holding it with your right hand by the ears, and with the left by the skin. It is recommended to gently hold the head of moving and restless animals between the knees. Hold the limbs with the left hand, and cut with the right, taking special care. The ears, head, paws and tail are only cut off if the down is longer than 5 cm or begins to fall off. Cutting defects should not be corrected, rabbit fur grows very quickly, and after three weeks your pet will look very attractive. The down is removed depending on the length and maturity of the rabbit. It is not recommended to remove down with a length of less than 6 cm.

A winter haircut gives 20-40% more fluff than a summer haircut. Collecting fluff from rabbits begins from 2-2, 5 months, while receiving 10-15 g. animal. Fluff is collected from adult animals five to six times a year. Based on the unevenness of hair growth in downy rabbits, after the age of seven months, it is advisable to collect the down every month. This is a laborious task, but such a fluff collection schedule eliminates waste.
