If your family has a cat, that's great. However, when the cat begins to mark in the corners, it becomes simply impossible to be in the house, these marks have such a terrible smell. Is it possible to disaccustom a cat to mark territory and how to do it?
Instructions
Step 1
First of all, you need to figure out whether your mustachioed pet really leaves marks, or whether he urinates in the wrong places. The fact is that an animal can forget about the existence of the tray if, for example, urolithiasis begins, and in this case completely different measures must be taken. In order to urinate, the cat sits down low, and the urine of the animal does not have such a disgusting pungent smell as its marks.
Step 2
If the cat approaches the wall, turns its back to it, lifts its tail and stretches its hind legs before directing a stream of a disgusting-smelling substance to the wall, then this is the process of leaving marks. In this case, you need to take urgent measures, unless, of course, you want your entire home to be saturated with this pungent and specific smell.
Step 3
In the overwhelming majority of cases, the cat begins to leave its foul-smelling marks upon reaching puberty - it does not pursue the goal of "spoiling" its owners, but only follows instincts. To keep your pet from tagging in the house, try to reduce the amount of protein in its diet, which is possible if you feed it natural foods. Those places where the marks have already been left should be thoroughly rinsed and treated with concentrated lemon juice in order to avoid a repetition of the situation - cats hate the smell of citrus fruits and avoid places where they smell.
Step 4
To prevent the cat from walking close to the wall and marking it, as a temporary measure, you can put aluminum foil on the floor along the wall. The vast majority of animals avoid walking on it.
Step 5
In fact, in some cases, only castration can solve the problem with a cat's marks. Starting from the age of seven months, a teenage cat that is not intended for breeding can have this rather simple operation. Do not feed the animal in the evening, but in the morning go with him to the veterinary clinic. A day later, the cat will already fully recover and will not mark the territory.
