Step 1
Organize your baby's diet. You can feed the animal with food prepared by yourself, or transfer it to industrial canned food and granules. For the first months, the pet should receive special food for kittens, later it should be transferred to a balanced food intended for oriental cats. Such a diet will help maintain the beautiful sheen of the fur and the graceful proportions of the animal. Feed the kitten 6 times a day, after six months it can be fed four times a day, and by one year it can be fed two times a day.
Step 2
Don't let the kitten beg for food or feed it from the table. A well-bred cat should not approach the place of the meal. If you do not provoke a kitten, he will not show interest in other people's food.
Step 3
If you have purchased a purebred kitten, it is most likely already toilet trained. Check with the breeder which tray and litter your pet prefers. Make sure that there are no obstacles on the way of the kitten to the pot. If you do not want to keep all the doors open, provide them with special cat doors. Change litter regularly - the kitten may refuse to visit a dirty litter box. If you have other cats, provide a separate toilet for the newcomer to avoid unnecessary conflicts between animals.
Step 4
Decide where your baby will sleep. The kitten may like a soft basket or a special house. But don't be surprised if he prefers a window sill or shelf in the linen closet. If you do not plan to let your pet in your bed, from the first days, teach him that the door to the bedroom will be closed. Please note that kittens are persistent. If you do not show persistence, he can get his way and it will not be easy to evict him from the bedroom.
Step 5
To avoid damage to upholstered furniture and to protect the animal itself, trim the kitten's claws with special nippers that do not leave burrs. This procedure must be performed every week, cutting off only the sharp ends. At first the kitten will resist, but soon it will get used to it.
Step 6
Don't expect your baby to sleep all the time. Activity is the hallmark of Siamese kittens. Play with your pet in your free time. One of the best things to do is playing with a piece of stiff paper rolled into a ball. Such a simple device will keep the kitten busy for a long time. Do not buy toys with small details - beads, elastic bands, bows. The kid can gnaw them off and choke.
Step 7
Oriental cats are independent and touchy creatures. Some believe that they are rancorous and can take revenge for unfair punishments. Therefore, harsh methods of exposure to Siamese kittens should not be applied. The key to success is persistence, attention and affection.
