Play is an important part of the puppy's socialization process. How you handle him during play will be a decisive factor in shaping your pet's character. By following the guidelines below, playing with your pet will not only be fun, but also productive.
Instructions
Step 1
Playing with a toy
Teach your puppy to release the toy after a specific command. He must release it and take it again only after your other command. Then you can give it some time to play. But if you let your puppy play for as long as he wants, you will lose control over him. Do not try to pull the toy out of the puppy's mouth, as this will train him to fight you.
Step 2
Peekaboo
Give your puppy a sit-stand command (may require two players, excluding the puppy). Show the puppy a treat and hide, then call him. The puppy must find you. This game teaches your pet to respond to its name and find you, even when you are out of sight, the sense of smell develops.
Step 3
"Bring it!"
Start the game by teaching your puppy to use vocal commands such as sit and wait. Show the puppy a ball or toy and get him involved in the game. Throw the toy a short distance and show by example to bring it back. During the game, use commands such as "get" or "fetch."
Step 4
Memory games
These games train your puppy's memory. Teach him the names of your family members, the names of his toys, etc. Hide your car keys and tell the puppy to "find", or write a note on a piece of paper and teach the puppy to take it to a nearby person. Imagine!
Step 5
Imitation
This game helps you bond with your puppy and just have fun. Imagine the desired behavior of the puppy (for example, reach out to him to give you his paw) and reward him with a treat after a series of successful attempts before you enter a new command - “give your paw”, otherwise the phrase will not make sense.
