Some take dogs on vacation, others go with them to exhibitions, some are forced to go to a new place of residence, and puppies sometimes travel by train to their new owners. To avoid problems on the road, you need to prepare for the trip with your pet.

Step 1
Start by buying tickets for yourself and your dog. In order to buy a ticket for a dog, you need a veterinary passport with the stamps of the vaccinations affixed there (if the puppy is two months old when the dogs are first vaccinated). Before the trip, you need to go to the state veterinary station, where you will be given a veterinary form number 1, according to which your pet has the right to ride the train. This certificate should be taken no earlier than three days before the trip.

According to the law, to transport an animal not in the baggage car, you will need to either buy out the entire compartment, or enlist the support of your neighbors, passengers, who should not mind that a puppy is traveling with them in the same compartment. The benevolent attitude of the guide to you will also help, so you can think in advance how you will win him over.
Step 3
If the trip is going to be a long one, think in advance where the puppy will go to the toilet. For very young puppies, you can put an oilcloth in a box or carrier in which they will be guided and change it as needed. If your puppy is big enough, and you have already started to walk him, check with the guide when there are large stations on your way, and take the dog for a walk while the train is stationary.

It is also worth considering the choice of food carefully, especially if the trip is planned in the summer. To prevent food from spoiling, it is best to take dry food with you. It will be much easier for you to clean up after your puppy has finished eating, and you will not need to worry about storage conditions. If you do not feed your puppy dog food, opt for canned dog food packaged in sachets. Such canned food is not very expensive and, most importantly, it is hermetically sealed and will be able to withstand being on the train and not deteriorate. Of course, if you open the bag and your puppy has eaten half, the rest of the canned food should be thrown away and not left for dinner.
