Fluffy cats have a special charm. But they also need special care so that tangles do not appear on their skin - formations from lost and tangled hair. In addition, the cat may swallow its own fur while washing, which can lead to health problems. Be patient, be prepared for the fact that this beautiful wool will have to be paid attention to every day. But if the cat still has mats, you need to immediately take measures to get rid of them.
Instructions
Step 1
Prepare a "slicker" - a special brush for combing out long hair. Despite the formidable name, the brush only removes hair that has already separated from the cat's body. Although, of course, if there are many areas of matted hair on the body, there is a risk of hurting the cat. You may also need a blunt-toothed steel comb. When choosing a comb or slicker, follow the advice of your veterinarian. Remember - the more often you comb your pet, the less discomfort this procedure will give her.
Step 2
Lay your cat in a position that is comfortable for both you and her. First, comb the coat around your neck. Move the comb in the direction of hair growth, gently and gently. Talk to your cat to comfort her. After combing the neck, move on to the front legs and armpits.
Step 3
The most problematic areas in fluffy cats are the tummy and part of the hind legs, called "panties". Pay special attention to these places. It is there that mats are most often formed, especially if the cat cannot reach these places, licking itself. Once you've found the tangles, gently untangle them with your hands and comb as far as you can. Especially hopeless areas are best cut with scissors.
Step 4
Place the animal on its feet and comb the fur on the back and tail. After finishing the procedure, pet the cat, praise her, give her a treat. Gradually, your pet will calmly allow you to comb it, perhaps even purring with pleasure.
