Rabbit care is not difficult and does not require much hassle. However, when you need to raise several animals for sale, impressive cages are installed on the site, and it becomes quite troublesome to feed the pets. In this case, convenient and simple rabbit feeders can be used. The cost of such an addition to an aviary is often high. To save money, you can make a do-it-yourself feeder from inexpensive material.

Step 1
Rabbits should have food all the time. To solve this problem, you can make a simple bunker-type feeder with your own hands. To do this, prepare in advance a large metal can, an angle machine for cutting metal, pliers and a drill.

First, clean the tin can from the remaining contents and dry it. Then cut off a portion of the can to the level where the ribbed surface ends. Set aside exactly half.
Step 3
So the front of the can is cut off. Bend its sharp edges with pliers to avoid cuts. Check by touch to see if the rabbit feeder is safe. Align the part you cut off earlier.
Step 4
We drill a lot of holes in the bottom of the can. Their diameter must be large enough so that the food for the animal can easily spill out. Bend the edges of the cut part with pliers too.
Step 5
Then assemble the structure. The device of this type of feeders is quite simple: the flat part is attached to the base using nuts and bolts or screws. Rivets will also work. Finally, screw the rabbit feeder to the cage wall and then add food inside.

Rabbits need to chew dry grass frequently. You can provide constant access to it with the help of special feeders. You can make them from mesh boxes, in which chickens are often sold in the poultry market. You just need to cut the wire and remove the inside, making the box narrower.

If you do not have chickens and you do not want to specifically purchase such cages, you will have to make a rabbit feeder in a different way. To do this, take wire cutters, metal staples, a mesh with sufficiently small cells and plastic clamps, which are often used to fix wires so that you can connect the walls of the device to each other.

It is advisable to take a grid with cells of approximately 1x1 centimeter. Cut out the parts of the feeder with pliers. You can see their layout and number in the drawing.
Step 9
When you have cut out all the parts, start assembling. Secure the sides of the homemade rabbit feeder with plastic ties. Be sure to make sure that there are no protruding ends of the wire, as your pet can get hurt by them.
Step 10
Bend the staples out of a piece of wire or paperclip. With their help, you will hook the finished rabbit feeder to the walls of the cage. You can also cut one square out of the mesh and leave two long ends of the wire. These simple rabbit feeders can be made by hand. They are quite lightweight and very easy to use.
