Chihuahuas need special care, which often only an experienced dog breeder can do. Sometimes you are amazed at how much energy this little lump contains. He is able to run, jump and play almost around the clock, so he should be walked at least 3 times a day. In cold weather, the number and duration of walks can be reduced, especially since some Chihuahuas agree to do their toilet work in a litter box. But daily walking should be on the schedule of every dog, and a special dog coat can be worn to protect from wind and rain.

Chihuahuas often like to sleep in their owner's bed. If you think this state of affairs is unacceptable, arrange for your pet a warm, dry, draft-free sleeping place. Some dogs are even able to learn to cover themselves with a blanket so as not to freeze in their sleep.

To prevent the Chihuahua's wool from getting clumped, it should be combed out 2-3 times a week with a special thick brush. If the baby comes back from a walk dirty, wipe him with a damp towel and dry the fur. Stubborn dirt is easier to remove by bathing in warm water with a drop of dog or baby shampoo. After rinsing your pet with a decoction of chamomile, you will see how, after drying, its coat will shine.

Chihuahuas tend to be overweight, so do not give in to the requests of the little sly and feed him special food for small dogs in strictly metered quantities. Food from the table is not only unhealthy, but may even turn out to be harmful to a delicate stomach. If you really want to pamper your pet with a treat, then only bought in a pet store and in very moderate quantities. From human food, he can be offered rice waffles without salt and sugar, but this should be done only in exceptional cases.
