When buying a puppy, consider his diet. You can feed your dog ready-made commercial food or prepare homemade food for him. Be sure to give your dog dairy products: cottage cheese, yogurt, kefir. Do not feed pugs with pork, fatty meats, smoked meats and sweets.

Breeders recommend professional brands of feed, but you can choose any of the options available on the market. Focus not on brands, but on the preference of your pet and your own financial capabilities.

Pugs tend to overeat. If your pet gets fat, limit portions. Don't give your dog too many treats. However, tasty morsels from time to time won't get in the way. A good addition to the diet will be raw sugar beef bone, a slice of peach or apple, ready-made granules with cereals and vitamins.

Give your dog a comfortable place to feel safe. Pugs value comfort, which is why they will love soft beds with fur or quilted upholstery. Please note that pugs love to sleep in the master's bed. If you disapprove of this behavior, restrict your dog's access to the bedroom.

You need to walk your dog twice a day. Pugs do not like long walks, but they will not refuse to run in the park or in the forest. In damp and cold weather, the pet can be dressed in a waterproof overalls, which will protect the dog from colds.

The pug's coat does not need laborious maintenance. It is enough to wipe the dog with a towel after the walk and wash its paws. If you want to bathe your pet, use a mild dog shampoo.
