An underweight dog may be associated with certain diseases of the internal organs, such as the liver or pancreas.
First of all, of course, see your veterinarian. He or she will order tests for your dog (CBC, CBC and stool tests). If they reveal diseases of the internal organs, then the veterinarian will prescribe a course of medication for your dog and select a suitable diet for her.
Step 2
Perhaps the dog is losing weight due to the defeat of the body by helminths. This can also be determined by a veterinarian by looking at the test results. If this is a problem, buy an anthelmintic medication (which will also help you find the right veterinarian) and give it to your dog. Usually, after solving this problem, the dog's appetite returns, and she quickly gains the weight she needs.

If everything is okay with your dog, then it is worth reviewing its diet.
If you feed your pet natural food, do not forget that a dog is, first of all, a predator! When feeding with natural food, take food rich in animal proteins - meat, fish and fermented milk products as the basis in the dog's diet.

When preparing porridge for your dog, keep in mind that there should be about 70% of meat or offal, and 30% of cereals. Boil the cereal first (rice, buckwheat, millet is preferable - this is the most fat-rich cereal. But note that millet must be boiled thoroughly) and only then add finely chopped meat, offal or fish to the porridge. For meat, dogs can be given beef and chicken. Beef is served either steamed or well frozen. Be sure to remove all tubular bones from the chicken before feeding. Give the fish oceanic, after slightly boiling it and removing all the bones from it.
Step 5
Feed the offal (heart, lung, liver, kidney, tripe) raw to the dog, except for the liver - it should be boiled. Feeding raw, unpeeled beef tripe helps your dog gain weight. Give it to your dog before bed in its pure form, that is, without porridge, as an additional groundbait.
Several times a week, give your dog fermented milk products between feedings: kefir, varenets, cottage cheese.

And, of course, don't forget about vitamins! When feeding with natural food, they are simply necessary. When choosing vitamins, it is advisable to consult a veterinarian. And best of all, vitamins are not in tablets, but in the form of injections - so they are absorbed by the body faster and more efficiently.

If you feed your pet with dry food, then everything is simple here. Give preference to premium and super premium feeds. Choose a food with a higher protein content (for example, for active dogs). When feeding a dog with dry food, no vitamins need to be added. But a raw beef tripe does not hurt at all.
