But in order to raise a normal healthy dog of this breed, it is necessary to provide it with special conditions and care.
Before you take your husky puppy into the house
Like any other breed, the Husky requires a responsible approach when choosing. It will be a mistake to keep it in an apartment, but a house, even with a not very large plot, is the most suitable place for this breed, for which intensive traffic is simply vital. But even in a private house it is impossible to keep this dog on a chain - the breed standard has an innate friendly attitude towards humans, so keeping a husky as a guard is to cripple the psyche of the dog. Husky are great protectors, companions and nannies, this is a breed for families with children.
Husky puppy care
The thick coat of the husky assumes grooming in the future, therefore, the puppy must be taught to brush from childhood, despite the fact that the coat at this age is still short and soft. Undercoat in puppies appears by 5-6 months. By this time, the coat becomes coarser, guard hair appears, such as in adult dogs. Regular brushing, especially during shedding, will prevent felting and mats formation. But keep in mind that touching the tail with the brush is unpleasant for the dog, so it is better to comb this part of her outfit when the puppy is lying down.
Before the coat becomes coarse, the puppy can be bathed once every 2-3 months. After his body is covered with thick hair, bathing can be canceled or, if you so desire, do it no more than once a year. For permanent hair, use the special natural bristle brush for a great circulation-boosting massage and brushing. In the event that during rainy weather the dog gets dirty on its paws and belly, just wipe them with a damp sponge when you return home.
Check regularly the claws on the puppy's paws, if he often runs at home or on soft ground in the area, they themselves will not grind, so they must be cut with special tongs. Periodically, it is necessary to clean the puppy's ears using a cotton swab dipped in boric acid or hydrogen peroxide.
How to feed a husky puppy
For a puppy to develop correctly, he needs a well-chosen diet rich in proteins, fats and vitamins. In the first 2-3 months, the puppy needs five meals a day, then the number of feedings is reduced and by the year the dog will have to switch to two meals a day. Be sure to give the puppy fermented milk products, quail eggs in raw or boiled form, you can give 2-3 frames per week.
Keep in mind that huskies, even in childhood, do not have a "brutal" appetite, but both puppies and adult dogs love fish. You can only give them sea fish, making sure that there are no bones in it. From meat - raw beef scalded with boiling water, you can give offal, chicken, turkey - just not with long bones. The main part of the diet 50-70% should consist of meat products, 20-30% - vegetable and fruit additives, 10-20% - cereals in the form of cereals.
