The rabbit is one of the most popular animals that find shelter in a person's home. Before taming a pet, you need to study in detail its habits and conditions of detention. In the village courtyard, spacious enclosures are arranged for these animals. A citizen can buy everything he needs at a pet store or make a house for a rabbit with his own hands.

It is necessary

  • Plywood sheets
  • Reiki
  • Grid
  • Saw
  • Nails
  • A hammer
  • Fittings (hinges, handle)
  • Ceramic bowl
  • Special cup
  • Straw or shavings
  • Newspapers
  • Fruit tree bar

Instructions

Step 1

Make plywood blanks for the side walls of the rabbit house, depending on the size of the pet. You should have squares of at least 70 x 70 cm. The back wall will be at least a meter in length; in height, it should be 15 centimeters below the sides. This is necessary in order to place a pallet under the cage. The house will stand on "legs" - side walls.

Step 2

Hammer up the rabbit house using slats for stability. Reinforce three walls; and for façade and decking, use a sturdy mesh with small holes. Fix the mesh rectangles with meter strips; moreover, nail the plank along the upper edge taking into account the future door cover.

Step 3

Make a rabbit house roof with mesh and slats and hang it on the back wall using two metal hinges. Install a convenient handle in the middle of the front edge of the lid - this way you can easily open and close the rabbit house, clean it and put food.

Step 4

Equip your rabbit cage with everything you need:

• Place a plastic pallet of a suitable size under the bottom net.

• Cover the mesh floor of the box with oat straw (or several layers of newspaper and coarse wood chips) at least 2 cm thick.

• Place a heavy ceramic food bowl so that the animal cannot tip over it easily.

• Attach a pet-friendly drip tray to the rabbit cage.

• Place a clean block of hard fruit wood in the rabbit house for your pet to sharpen its teeth.
