When starting a dog, you must understand your responsibility to it, so you must take care of its health and upbringing. From the very first days, when a small, defenseless and charming hairball appears in your home, you should realize that you should not postpone parenting until it grows up. Good habits should be instilled in the puppy right away.
Instructions
Step 1
Warn all family members, relatives and friends at home so that none of them give the puppy pieces from the table. First, the feeding schedule and diet are important for the puppy. Much of what lies on your table is simply contraindicated for it and even harmful. In addition, it turns out that this puppy is training you when he looks tenderly and begs for a tidbit that you cannot refuse to give him. But it should be the other way around - it is the puppy who is in your subordination, and not you in his.
Step 2
So that the dog does not experience stress when the rest of the "pack" is eating at the table, feed him at lunchtime, but only from his separate bowl. Or feed her before everyone else gathers at the table.
Step 3
During lunch, teach your dog not to spin under the table, but to stay in its place, or even take it out of the dining room. The rest of the pieces that you can give her, take to her bowl after lunch.
Step 4
If the dog has already developed the skill of pulling pieces of food from the table, then it will be more difficult to wean him, since this skill has received food reinforcement, as in training. Your task in this case is to make the food left on the table a source of pain or discomfort. At the same time, try not to associate them with your presence, because as soon as you are gone, she will resume trying. You can connect a weak current source of 9-12 V to a piece of food or stuff it with something bitter - quinine, mustard, pepper. You can use a special remote-controlled electric collar.
Step 5
Teach your dog that the food on the table is not for her. To do this, put a piece of meat on the table that she obviously cannot swallow right away. Do not give any forbidding commands, pretend not to follow her. Wait for her to grab a piece and pull it out of her, saying "Ugh!"
