A dog's howl is unlikely to seem unusual to anyone, even in the city you often hear drawn out sounds. However, if the howl lasts for a long time, and the full moon is shining in the sky, the sound alarms even skeptics.

Experienced dog handlers in every possible way debunk the myths about the relationship between the howling of a dog and the full moon. It is believed that a large night star attracts the attention of intelligent four-legged as well as people, and therefore dogs simply express their interest by howling and nothing more.
Any explanation for howling at the moon in dogs is nothing more than a theory. There is, perhaps, no real evidence in favor of this or that argument.
People watching wolves - the direct relatives of dogs - argue that wolves use howl as a means of communication, and therefore this is how a dog's howl should be explained. However, popular beliefs are not born from scratch either. Observing animals, their behavior and comparing it with what happened after the events become signs. So, for example, it is popularly believed that if a dog howls with its muzzle down, it is to the deceased. And if on the contrary - up, then this is a fire.
By the way, the howl "at the dead" is quite explainable from the point of view of science: a person's body odor changes before his death, and the dog with its unique sense of smell senses it. This refers, of course, to natural death.
If the dog is inactive during the day, rolls on the ground or, on the contrary, lies motionless for a long time, refuses food, and leaves the house with the onset of darkness and howls, most likely, it is preparing for its own death. There are breeds that instinctively try to leave their native walls a couple of days before their death, which is why smart owners almost never look for departed dogs.
Animals are terrific indicators of environmental change. For example, before an earthquake, pets begin to behave in an unusual way, trying to inform their owners of an impending disaster.
It is not known how true all these mystical explanations are; it is very difficult to verify them. However, as practice shows, and beliefs have a right to exist.
