Chihuahua is a small lap dog that looks more like a toy. But this should not mislead you - like any dog, a Chihuahua needs training. Proper upbringing of a dog is, first of all, its safety and your peace of mind. And you need to start it from the first day, when this funny, cheerful lump of energy appears in your house.
Instructions
Step 1
Of course, this dog does not require a full training course, as service, hunting and fighting dogs do. The necessary minimum for her will be to know her nickname, place, to be able to walk with a collar on a leash and without it, not to beg for food at the table and not to bother strangers, to know the commands "To me", "Near", "Fu", "You can't ". In addition, she must be litter-trained.
Step 2
The puppy usually begins to understand his nickname and his place almost from the first day. Chihuahuas are very smart kids and literally immediately begin to react to their name spoken aloud. But learning will go much faster if his successes are backed up by a small piece of something tasty. It can be an apple or an unsalted cracker. And surely - weasel, each command performed should be encouraged by an affectionate voice and stroking the puppy.
Step 3
Social adaptation is very important for this dog so that it is not shy and hysterical. Therefore, start walking her immediately three weeks after the revaccination. In cold weather, you can walk with it, hiding it under a jacket, but the Chihuahua's head should be sticking out. Earlier acquaintance with the outside world has a beneficial effect on the development of a normal psyche in a dog. He will also benefit from acquaintance with other dogs of the same small size.
Step 4
It is easy to teach him and the command "Come to me", say it when you call him to feed, and simply calling to yourself, stimulating obedience with a delicacy. No matter how cute the puppy may seem to you, when teaching him commands, pronounce them clearly and clearly. Do not intersperse the command with diminutive nicknames or other words that distract the dog from its essence.
Step 5
Be sure to train your dog so that it behaves calmly when it is picked up, because its fall can result in injury. Teach her the command "No", so that natural curiosity does not let the dog down. To do this, use a sharp, but not strong tension on the leash, a stern voice. Stop her attempts to bark, even if there is a reason for it, otherwise you risk simply becoming deaf from her sonorous barking, which will accompany any manifestation of feelings.
Step 6
Teach a Chihuahua puppy to do a stand on the table, show his teeth, react calmly when he is being combed, and his ears and eyes are examined.
