Step 1
Any plaque on the walls of the aquarium is formed for a reason. This is a signal for the owner, and not only that the aquarium should be cleaned. It is also an indicator that something is wrong in the aquarium. Perhaps the aquarium is overloaded: there are too many fish and plants of different types. Maybe some of the inhabitants are not suitable for the ambient temperature or they do not get along with their neighbors. There is an option that the inhabitants of the aquarium simply do not have enough air, so decomposition begins somewhere.

However, in no case should you overload the aquarium with cleaning. The fact is that a certain community is formed during the life of fish and plants in old water. The disruption of life in this community leads to stress, and too frequent water changes and exposure to cleaning agents on the aquarium negatively affect its inhabitants. Therefore, it is better to get rid of plaque in the aquarium with additional means.
Step 3
Check carefully for compatibility and a reasonable number of aquarium fish and plants. They must have enough food and space to live, otherwise the animals begin to fight for habitat or food, which can disrupt the atmosphere of their habitat. Be sure to maintain the correct ratio of oxygen, light and heat in your aquarium. To do this, it is worthwhile to study separately what conditions and plants are suitable for which fish. Introduce special fish in your aquarium, feeding on the remains of vital activity and parasites on the walls.

Different remedies help against different types of plaque. Examine the color of the aquarium plaque. If it is green, it is likely that it is caused by water bloom. This could be due to an elevated water temperature or an external infection and parasitic plants introduced into the aquarium. In this case, it is enough to purchase pills against algae that cause an aquarium bloom at the pet store.

Parasites are found not only among plants, but also among animals. Hydras, small crustaceans, evidence, planaria are typical representatives of unwanted aquarium animals. They are the ones that cause white bloom on the walls of the aquarium and on rocks. They are also removed quite simply, like parasitic plants - with the help of a drug, usually it is sold in the form of drops. Before getting rid of any kind of parasites, you must first clean the aquarium and add fresh water to it, and then the drug. Read the instructions carefully before use. Anti-parasite products do not harm common fish and plants.
Step 6
If mucus forms in the aquarium, it means which fish has died and is decomposing. It could also be a plant. You need to find and remove the source of mucus, and then replace the water. If you cannot find the source of mucus and pollution in your aquarium, you can take drastic measures: resettle the fish and plants, dry the aquarium thoroughly, boil all the decorative stones and only after a while try to repopulate the aquarium with residents.
